Livingston – Gardiner, 59 miles

Recovery ride? What recovery ride?

Fortified with espresso and bacon, we started our day with a long, slow climb.

Bison!

We’d been told to keep an eye out for eagles. Nope.

Around 10:30, we arrived at the lunch stop. Pulled pork. (This is why, if you’re keeping kosher, you opt for the vegan menu.)

And a little fashion rant here. Lycra deteriorates over time. Gentlemen, if I want to see your junk, I’ll ask nicely. Please discard the bike shorts before they’re see-through. Thanks.

It was a day without big hills, but all climbing, all the time. I was happy to make it to camp before my undercharged Garmin died.
